Platinum Palladium Process

The process I use to make platinum palladium prints is the Malde-Ware method.  I shoot my images using a Fuji Film GFX 100s medium format digital camera or a Nikon Z7 mirrorless camera and then make digital negatives using a quad tone rip.  The negatives are printed on Pictorico transparency film use Cone black and white inks. Then I coat Revere platinum paper with the platinum-palladium chemistry and hydrate the paper before exposing them to ultraviolet light.  They are then submerged in a series of clearing baths.

Although additional prints can be made from the negatives, the process makes each one unique, as are the subjects they depict. The richness of platinum-palladium printing imbues darkness with its own beauty and the use of noble metals both preserves transitory states and underscores how valuable all of existence is despite, or perhaps because of, its impermanence.
