SlowExposures Book Book Event and Signing

  • Chamber of Commerce Building 416 Thomaston Street Zebulon, GA, 30295 United States (map)

Meet me at SlowExposures in Zebulon, Georgia!

I’ll be signing copies of my newest book, Poetry of Being, Saturday September 16, from 1-3pm Eastern Time.

The Chamber of Commerce Building is the same location for the Popup Show Juror’s talk that will occur Saturday morning just prior to our book event (10am – 11am).  I will be onsite setting up tables immediately after the juror’s talk.   Therefore, you can start bringing in your books for setup any time following the talk.  If you need assistance unloading your books, let me know so I can assist.

From the publisher:

The Poetry of Being expresses artist Lynne Buchanan’s response to the fragility and perseverance of nature through photographs and haikus. Images of what was, things still hanging on, the effects of climate change, and the cycle of life make up this ever-relevant monograph. The book’s quadtone printing process mimics the original photographs’ platinum palladium prints evoking a sense of beauty in their darkness and underscoring the importance of connecting with the environment to find hope in challenging times. Buchanan made the photographs on a mountain ridge near her home and areas she could drive to in Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, and North Carolina during lockdown in the first Covid wave. The act of photographing became a daily ritual that helped ground her and keep her balanced during a period of profound isolation. The book is interspersed with poetry by James Lenfestey and Lynne Buchanan.
