Taking Solace in Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in a Time of Political Upheaval

Squeezed Blossom

Squeezed Blossom

The day after the Election, I spent the afternoon walking through Kanapaha Botanical Gardens in Gainesville.  It is one of my favorite botanical gardens because it is very natural looking.  They also have Victoria Water Lilies there.  For several years, the lilies did not appear but suddenly this year they were back again.  Some pads were almost perfect while others were past their prime and eaten away but still beautiful.  My walk through the gardens gave me great solace that day, so I decided to share these images in the hopes that it might do the same for others.  What follows will only be images. Sometimes the best thing to do is just look and listen in silence.
